INNOAQUA project up and running

The INNOAQUA project is up and running since last june.
The INNOAQUA project is one of the recently funded Horizon Europe projects within the Farm-to-Fork strategy. The project started on the 1st of June 2023 and officially kicked off on the 6th of June with the first consortium meeting, held online. A total of 17 partners from eight countries are involved in the project, led by NORCE Norwegian Research Centre. Full name of the project is “Innovative Approaches for an Integrated Use of Algae in Sustainable Aquaculture Practices and High-Value Food applications”
INNOAQUA aims to pave the path towards the upcoming sustainable and diversified EU in-land aquaculture industry by demonstrating and mainstreaming innovative algae-based foods and solutions, based on ecology, circularity and digitalization concepts.
Sustainn role in the project is to lead Work Package 5 (Sustainability, Safety and Regulation), related to the evaluation of sustainability, circularity and to regulatory and safety assesments of the proposed technologies, innovations and products developed in each demonstration case.
Within WP5, in particular, Sustainn will carry out the socio – economic impact assessment, life cycle sustainability and circularity assessments of the technologies and products developed within INNOAQUA.
On 10-12th October 2023 the INNOAQUA partners met in Bergen (Norway) for the first annual meeting. The meeting was hosted by the project coordinator NORCE Norwegian Research Centre.
