Re-Conception of Systems to improve Competitiveness

Reconceiving business models, products and services to improve competitiveness towards a zero-waste society
Sustainn accompanies you to the re-conception of systems, products, services and business models oriented to zero waste generation. We contribute to restore and regenerate the environment through the recirculation of materials and resources, improving thus, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
We apply Circular Economy concepts from the early phases of conception of business models (Circularity Canvas) and design (Sustainability-oriented Product Development) analyzing all possible recirculations of materials and resources.
We prioritize the smaller recirculation loops (repair, reuse) to optimize the consumption of materials and energy, following the Circularity Hierarchy criteria (“The smaller the loop, the greater the profitability of the overall system”):
- 1. Maintenance/Repair
- 2. Reuse
- 3. Refurbishment
- 4. Remanufacturing
- 5. Recycle
See those loops in the following representation of a circular process map:
This approach leads to zero waste generation and a lower consumption of materials, resources and energy in the entire life cycle. With the use of renewable energy sources, it leads to commercialize products and services that contribute to restore and regenerate the environment.
And adds the following values:
- Economical Value: Life Cycle Cost (LCC) reduction and improvement of competitiveness
- Environmental value. Reduction of environmental impact and costs and ensures the commitment to RSC in the environmental dimension
- Legislations: Enables the adaptation of the company to the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) concept, which is being introduced in European Directives, such as Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE), of compulsory fulfilment from 2018 on.
Therefore, re-conception of systems, integrating Circular Economy concepts, contributes to improve the competitiveness of companies reducing the environmental impact of their products and services.
